Louisiana State Capitol
The “Louisiana State Capitol” parliament building is located in Baton Rouge and houses the legislature as well as the executive and the governor’s office. The Capitol was built in 1932 in the Art Deco style. Thanks to its 137 m high tower, the “Louisiana State Capitol” can boast of being the tallest building in Baton Rouge and the largest capitol in the United States. The building has also been declared a National Historic Landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Louisiana State Museum
The Louisiana State Museum is located in New Orleans and was founded in 1906. The museum complex consists of a large number of houses that have been designated as National Historic Landmarks and display thousands of artifacts and works of art that reflect historical events and the cultural diversity of Louisiana.
LSU Rural Life Museum
The “LSU Rural Life Museum” is located in Baton Rouge and shows the history of Louisiana on a 160,000 m² farm. The museum recalls the heritage and origins of the various cultural groups that have shaped the state and shows various exhibitions in three different areas. The barn houses countless artifacts from the 19th century, which were primarily used in agriculture, such as agricultural machinery and tools, but also furniture and dishes. Mansfield State Historic Site
The Mansfield State Historic Site is located in Mansfield in DeSoto Parish, near the Sabine River and northwest Louisiana.
